Replay Assessment and Support Program
In partnership with the TDSB, we operate an Alternative Learning Environment for students who are excluded and/or disengaged from the mainstream school system. We are a designated Safe and Caring School site held in the community. This program seeks to engage students in a creative learning environment while addressing the root cause of disengagement. As an alternative to street violence, isolation, and marginalization Replay offers students the opportunity to obtain credits while gaining life skills, building healthy community supports, acquiring critical thought tools and receiving ongoing support for future success.
We work in partnership with school administrators, youth and families to assist in gaining re-entry into the appropriate school for each student. We also provide ongoing advocacy support for youth facing systemic barriers in accessing their rights within the school system. We outreach to youth who “have fallen through the cracks” of the school system and work with individuals to regain access.
High Engagement Credits
Youth gain high school credit for intensive leadership and community work. They attend once a week to participate in leadership & capacity building workshops. Participants attend an independent secondary school program that uses outdoor adventure, team building, and academic tutoring as tools for learning and to gain high school credits. The purpose is for youth to get to know themselves, their skills and help them figure out what they want to do in their lives. This program is about taking risks, going into unknown places and situations and pushing your emotional and physical boundaries.
